“BAKARE-AREMU, TUNDE ABUBAKAR (PhD),
Bakare-Aremu, T. A. is a Senior lecturer in the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Science, National Open University of Nigeria, Jabi, Abuja, Nigeria. He obtained a PhD in Economics from the Department of Economics, University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos in 2016. Before this, he had an M.Sc. in Economics from the same department and institution in 2007.
Dr. Bakare-Aremu earned his first degree from the Department of Economics, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria in 2002. However, before his first degree, he had obtained a Higher Diploma in Mathematics Education (HDME), and a Diploma in Mathematics Education (DME) in 1995 and 1997 respectively from the Institute of Education, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Dr. Bakare-Aremu has contributed to the global body of knowledge through his input to scholarly debates and learned journals locally and internationally. He has won some awards and scholarships in academics which include a teaching assistantship at the University of Lagos; a Graduate Fellowship at the University of Lagos;
African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) research grant award; World Bank Step B Research award; and Best PhD. Thesis in Economics in Nigeria by the Nigerian Economic Society (NES) in 2017.
His major areas of interest in both research and teaching are; in Economics and Development studies; Social and Developmental Research, Applied Econometrics, Monetary and International Finance, and Economics Theories.
As an open distance learning (ODL) expert, I have attended a number of trainings to improve my expertise, such as Moodle Test items Training, Camtasia software training, E-Facilitation Training, Course Material Development, etc. These were facilitated by both University of Lagos, Distance Learning Institute (DLI), and National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja.
