Career Profile

Oyebode’s work experience spanned over three decades in both public service and academy. He started as a teacher of English Language with Ogun State Post-Primary Schools Board between 1986 and 1991. He worked briefly with Oyo State Post-Primary Schools Board in 1991 also as a teacher of English Language.

He worked at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, Ibadan from January, 1992 to May, 2013 as a producer. He was the presenter of So Daa Bee, a med-arb and conflict resolution programme on BCOS Television for ten years between 2003 and 2013. He assumed the position of Assistant Director of Programmes in 2007. He was Pioneer Head, BCOS Ajilete FM Channel in 2009 and Head, BCOS Television Channel between 2010 and 2013.

He joined the National Open University of Nigeria in June, 2013. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution. In addition to his academic duties, he was the Acting Director of NOUN, Iwo Community Study Centre, Osun State between July 2020 and September, 2024.

Oyebode’s academic and professional qualifications include PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies, M.Sc. in Peace and Conflict Studies and B.A (ed) Language Arts (English). He also has a Master of Communication Arts and Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication. He is a Member of the Advertising Practitioner Council of Nigeria, Member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Member, Institute of Chattered Mediators and Conciliators and a Fellow of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice.
