Career Profile

My name is Heman Johnson. I was employed by the university service in 2007 as a clerical officer deployed to Yola Study Centre, Adamawa State, National Open University of Nigeria. I developed myself, and I was promoted to the rank of administrative officer in 2015, later converted to academic as a lecturer in the Department of Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, Faculty of Social Sciences, in 2021.

My early educational journey began at Army Primary School Monguno, Borno State, after which I proceeded to Government Secondary School Bille in the Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State. I later attended Adamawa State Polytechnic, where I earned a diploma in public administration in 2010.

Subsequently, I obtained a B.Sc. in Criminology and Security Studies, graduating in 2015 with a second-class lower degree, and an M.Sc. in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution in 2019 with a high cumulative grade point average, which secured me admission to the PhD program at the National Open University of Nigeria, where I am currently enrolled.

My areas of specialisation include armed conflict between state and non-state actors, peacebuilding, and national development. I have published several articles and remain actively involved in academic research.
