Dickson Ogbonnaya IGWE, currently, Thirteen years as a faculty in the Department of Criminology and Security Studies, National Open University of Nigeria. Three years as a Reader (Associate Professor of Criminology and Development Studies (CSS), and a year as a PGCOORD, three years faculty representative at SIWESS, RETRIDOL, Quality Assurance, committee membership, research, curriculum, promotion, and discipline. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Sociology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, 2019. Served between 2018-2022 as head of Department, Senator, UEC member, UNOD advisory board member and activated Master and PhD programs as well as departmental journal up to third editions, championed an approved blueprint for departmental forensic laboratory and the recruitment of seven faculties to strengthen capacity. His research and teaching interests include Crime, Criminal Justice and Sustainable Development; Governance, activism and Criminality; Crime Scene Processing and Security; Corruption, Transparency and Inclusion and inequality, Identity studies, Social Change; Violent Crime and conflict; Insecurity and Security studies. TETFUND Institution Based Research (IBR) Project, 2024 lead researcher awardee. Fellows and Alumni of Humboldt, TIPS, CODESRA, IFRA, and World Rotary Peace Fellowships. Dr Igwe has authored two books (course materials) (CSS841- Policing and Law Enforcement in Nigeria and CSS381- Domestic Violence) and coauthored three others (CSS852 – (Cyber Criminology and Vulnerability), CSS849 – (Principles of Security Practice and Management). He is widely published in local and international peer reviewed journals and book chapters.
