Career Profile
Samuel Opeyemi Iroye hails from Ijagbo in Oyun L.G.A. Kwara State. He obtained LL.B Degree in Law from the University of Ilorin and B.L. Certificate from the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, He had his NYSC in Lagos State where he emerged one of the Lagos State Best Serving Corp member for the year 2001/2022.
He has a “Masters’ Degree in Law – LL.M’’ and a PhD in ‘’Strategic Studies from the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education from the National Open University of Nigeria and Diploma in Theology from The African Church College of Theology, Lagos.
He has worked in different Legal Firms in Ilorin, Kwara State and Lagos State respectively. He also went into corporate legal practice and served as the Company Secretary of “Union Diagnostic and Clinical Services Plc., Yaba, Lagos and the Head of Legal and Human Resources of Premier Paints Nigeria, Ifo, Ogun State.
He worked as a part-time and adjunct lecturer at The Polytechnic Ibadan and Yaba College of Technology and presently a full time Lecturer at the National Open University of Nigeria where progressed rapidly until he became promoted to the Rank of a Reader in Strategic Studies and Conflict Resolution.
He was the first HOD of the Department of Commercial Law, once the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and also the first Head of the Department of Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution of the National Open University of Nigeria.
