Career Profile

“After obtaining my first degree in Sociology from Covenant University, Ota in July 2018, I was privileged to serve the country through the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), from November 2018 to November 2019 as a Social Studies Teacher at Queen of Apostles Secondary School, Ibadan, Oyo State.
I transitioned to work as a Research Assistant for the Research Training Institute (RTI) and USAID, in Delta State from December 2019 to January, 2020 where I conducted interviews and non-participant observation. My interest in academia led me to volunteer as a Teacher at Dalos Schools, Ota in early 2020 where I supervised students and organised awareness programs.
In 2021, I became a Master’s student of Criminology at the University of Ibadan. During this period, I volunteered at the Social Works Office of Jaja Clinic, University of Ibadan from February, 2022 to March, 2023. My responsibilities included counselling, raising mental health awareness, and organising students for medical screening.
I later worked for the Master Card Foundation/Preston Associates in Lagos State as a Research Assistant conducting systematic household sampling and field interviews from January to August 2023.
In November, 2023, I began my Ph.D. Programme in Sociology at the University of Ibadan and was privileged to join the Department of Criminology and Security Studies, National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja as an Assistant lecturer shortly after.”
